Time keeps marching on and I find myself busier than before. I have one more class before it ramps up to 100 and I begin to attend school in person. It makes me nervous. Sometimes I forget how close it is, then I look at a calendar, or count how many assignments I have left in the current class and my anxiety takes over from there.

The next class is a microbiology class. Sciences have never been my strong suit, despite working in the field. It is like a fake it till I make it situation. Though in this case, I know what I am doing until it gets to the finer details like microbiology. I can see the need for the class, even if I hate having to take it. It will be a nice distraction from my disastrous decision to jump back into the dating world.

Now if I thought school was an adventure, dating is a feat. One I should have researched more heavily before I dared take. But no, as with most things in my life, I jumped in with both feet and swam the depths in hopes the deep sea monsters would miss me. So far I have been able to spot that sharks and sea snakes, though there has been a siren or two that has fucked me up for a moment. At those moments, I take a deep breathe and remind myself, at least it’s not a manatee, and move on.

It leaves me uncertain if I am going to stay in the dating game or not. With school ramping up soon, and possibly needing to adjust my hours at my day job to a night job, is it even worth it to continue looking right now? My brain waffles on the decision while my heart whole-heartedly says yes. Oh the joys of logic and emotion. I guess I can always move to the shallows and wade around hoping for something. Who knows what I’ll find?
